Milli,

Actually my muse visits often right before sleep or when I'm just lazing there relaxing. I think I had been just particularly stuck at that time. Thankfully, some great people helped me. :)

Cat,

I made a few changes and I think it's improved it a lot. It's done and at the voice cast right now. :)

As for this post....I have a podcast coming in a day or two that will talk about it. :)

Thank you both for the comments.

I'd suggest that you keep your first chapter (I quite liked it, by the way) and move the bits that can be moved into later chapters (especially explanations). That way you will get into your story much, much faster. I do not think that there has to supernatural interference right away if the chapters are interesting and moving the story along. The only thing you should avoid are long passages of explanation.

I know it sounds a bit goofy but have you ever used the cat on your blog as a muse? You could lie down in a quiet room and let your mind relax. A little deep breathing helps. When you feel receptive, ask your muse for help. Then just wait.

The answer may come in an unexpected form--such as a feeling rather than sequential thoughts--and if you trust the process, you'll know what it means. Maybe not right away, but certainly within a few days.

The spirit of inspiration sometimes needs us to get still and stop focusing on the obstacles before it feels welcome to silently creep in and leave its clues.
